Creatively searching for some way to restore air into their offense, the Carolina Panthers, poetically, settled upon a design that worked quite well: Jonathan Mingo motioning through the flat, and into a “wheel route.” Taking advantage of pre-snap movement that allowed him to generate a somewhat-full head of steam, Mingo raced down the left sideline unnoticed, eventually setting his path for a diving, 29-yard snag. Mingo's catch set up a field goal just four plays later, allowing Carolina to cut into the Bears' lead. Carolina would fall 36-10 against the Chicago on Oct. 6, 2024, but Mingo, given additional opportunities due to injuries, turned in two catches (on five targets) for 37 yards.
