Marking their territory as one of the more dynamic one-two punches across the collegiate scene in the Pacific Northwest, Troy Franklin and his fellow first-year quarterback turned their connection up a notch during the NFL’s Week 6. Aligned inside within a condensed formation from the two-yard line, Franklin introduced his short-area quickness, breaking free on an in-breaking route before retrieving his professional career’s first-ever touchdown on Oct. 13, 2024. Unwilling to let the Denver Broncos be “sitting ducks” on the scoreboard, Franklin — who turned in a three-touch, 36-yard, one-touchdown effort — prevented both a shutout, and helped spur a competitive finish in the 23-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
