Finding his footing quickly with his new team, J.K. Dobbins opened 2024’s campaign with a swiftness that opponents — and the Los Angeles Chargers’ history books — couldn’t quite keep pace with. Purposeful in every step during a left-side stretch run, Dobbins hustles through the levels of Carolina’s defense with hotel elevator-like speed, ultimately concluding with a stutter-step, stiff arm combination, and then a celebratory frontflip, capping a 43-yard run. Dobbins was electrifying in Week 2’s 26-3 rout over the Panthers on Sept. 15, 2024, overwhelming the opposition with 17 carries, 131 yards, and one touchdown. The showcase made Dobbins the Chargers’ first-ever running back to open a season with back-to-back 100-yard rushing performances.
