On what would be the final game action he saw in his multi-decadal football career, Patriots quarterback Doug Flutie did something that hadn't been done in more than 60 years: successfully convert a drop kick. Lining up roughly 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage on this extra point attempt, Flutie received the snap, took a step forward, dropped the ball towards the grass, and then kicked it through the upright just after it made contact with the turf to convert the extra point in unorthodox fashion. With the successful try, the NFL world saw its first drop kick conversion since 1941. New England would ultimately fall in this matchup with the Dolphins, however, losing 28-26 on Jan. 1, 2006.
