Behind by nine points in the third quarter of the opening game of the 1987 NFL Season, the Vikings needed a spark, and Pro Bowl receiver Anthony Carter provided just that. Carter created some separation down the right sideline as the ball came his way, hauled in the pass, and then took off sprinting down the sideline, evading the reach of a would-be tackler before getting to the end zone untouched for a career-long 73-yard score. Carter only caught two balls in this one, but tallied 94 yards and had this impactful touchdown, which started a Minnesota comeback. The Vikings would go on to beat the Lions in this one, 34-19, on Sept. 13, 1987.
