With Washington trailing 14-0 in the fourth quarter and the opposing Panthers on the prowl for more points, the Washington defense needed to step up and make a big play to keep their team in the game. Enter linebacker LaVar Arrington. After this pass was deflected coming out of the quarterback's hand, Arrington was able to pick it off and take off running the other way, showing off impressive speed as he danced down the sideline for a 67-yard score. Arrington also added six tackles in this one, as Washington came back to win in overtime, 17-14, on Oct. 21, 2001.
