Rookie 49ers kicker Jake Moody opened the scoring early in the second quarter of Super Bowl LVIII, kicking a then-record 55-yard field goal to give San Francisco a 3-0 lead. Though Moody would only hold the record for longest made field goal in a Super Bowl for about a quarter-and-a-half, he did connect on two more field goals in this one, one of which was from 53 yards out, making him the only kicker in history to make two field goals of 50 or more yards in a single Super Bowl. Despite Moody's efforts, the 49ers would ultimately fall in overtime to the Chiefs, 25-22, in an unforgettable matchup on Feb. 11, 2024.
