With the Chiefs trailing by three points late in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVIII and the offense just outside of field goal range, this critical third-and-two play was a must-have to prevent having to execute a do-or-die fourth down. Kansas City running back Jerick McKinnon answered the call, catching this pass in the flat after slipping past the pass rush, and then scooting past the first down marker for a gain of seven yards and a fresh set of downs. McKinnon caught two passes for 15 yards in this one, with this catch ultimately leading to a game-tying field goal to force overtime, where the Chiefs would eventually win, 25-22, over the 49ers on Feb. 11, 2024.
