With immortality on the line, Dolphins quarterback Bob Griese stepped back in the pocket and fired a precise pass downfield to receiver Howard Twilley, who hauled it in and fought for the final few yards to get the ball across the goal line and open the scoring in Super Bowl VII. Griese finished the day with 88 passing yards and the one score as he orchestrated the Dolphins to the tough 14-7 victory over Washington to finish off their perfect 17-0 season on Jan. 14, 1973.
